Exposition:
Exposition is the way in which a film induces background information. For example, in the opening scene of 'delicatessen' the audience is introduced an establishing shot in which we can see a bombed out building and thick yellow fog/smoke that is creating the setting for the audience. Later introduced to context which are prior to the events as well as the time and place. commonly having something to do with the characters in the opening.
