Story boarding is when you draw an image of the shots that you want to film.
Why is it important:
Before Production:
- It will allow you to plan out and organise your filming
- Allows you to try things and consider each shot while you’re not wasting time on set.
- drawing a story board will allow you and your group to visualise what is going to happen
- You will have the ability to actually see what will work and what won't
After Production:
- each member of the group when editing will notice which shots should piece together well
What should be included:
- labelled shot numbers. ( understand the order)
- The location allowing you to identify and locate each location
- The action (so that everyone can read out what is going to happen)
- Sound (dialog)
- lighting ( can be presented by shading)
- transitions ( written so that everyone can visually identify how it will continue)
- timing (duration)
