In class we were given an exercise in which we had to follow a comic script and try to convey this by creating a short film story based upon the shots and the dialogue that were presented by the images we were given.
We worked in groups of three, making a decision that one person was going to be filming and that we would have the other two members of the group try to act out based on the resources that we were given. We made a mutual agreement that we would base it on a teacher trying to make sure that a student is getting their work done. We ended up shooting the scene from the different angles that we were given on the sheet and then we decided that we were going to shoot the whole scene from the students perspective and then the whole scene from the teachers perspective. I feel as though we did well but the shots that we ended up using in the final edit were not suited with one another. What I mean by this is that the actors did not appear to be in the same position or appear to be acting the same (facial expressions). In conclusion i feel as though we should have ensured that we tried to act the same throughout those different shots and then ensured that we could all together as a group make a decision upon which shots suit the characters perspectives best.
I feel like I know now that next time when i work in a group i should ensure to consult the rest of them and gather everyones opinion upon which shots should suit what we are shooting best as i feel like the it is important that everyone in the group is open to communicate with one another and share what they each have to say.
